And he HONESTLY wants us to believe that there was never any sexual harassment going on behind the scenes? By now I think we all realize that Barker dictates what he wants on the show, and old dogs seem to like shiny new kittens.
The older he gets, the younger they get...This is no one's gentle loving Grandpa figure if you take the rose colored glasses off and see the truth. A picture is worth a thousand words. WHo need neutering now?
It is amazing that his staying power on television and in the eyes of his viewers lasts as long as it does. He always seemed to turn the tables on those people that would challenge his actions. Somehow it's THEIR fault, THEIR attempts to come on to HIM. He has certainly hoodwinked the masses with his demeanor and goes after those that would criticize him with a vengence.
I was once able to go behind the scenes of CBS' Century City for the taping of another show many. many years ago. The show shared the back hallways as "The Price is Right." You could see that the sets for TPiR were flimsly, and garish...some would say much like the host.
"Bob Barker, Celebrating 12 Years Since Last Grope" or "Bob Barker - His Black Heart Is Pumping, Strong As Ever" or "Bob Barker - Don't Start That Cryogenic Chamber Just Yet"
I suppose WE'RE supposed to just write off his behaviors as that of a feeble old man...sorta like how we just allow grandpa to cackle as he wets himself in the easy chair. Somehow Bob must feel that everything he does and how he treats those people that work with him are justified to a *star* of his stature. It doesn't help those people that he hurt or abused but it would be good to understand that he is just a lonely old man who is desparate for companionship in a life that he's forged for himself.
